Wasabi Romper

This is real, actual tie dye, at last.  I first dyed with the green (wasabi), then over dyed with teal and bound it with rubber bands. I wanted the green to predominate so binding before dyeing with the blue left a lot of the green showing.

This is an outfit for my great nephew who is just learning to walk. Won't he be cute ?

Oh, and a slightly larger T shirt for his adoring aunt.

Baby Bibs

The baby has grown out of his first set of bibs so I got to make some new ones.  Transferring images is so easy and fun I may have to come up with more reasons for making things.  The bibs are from Dharma and the images are from the Graphics Fairy.

Baby Mix and Match Wardrobe

The finale of the dyeing adventure of baby stuff.  I think the little hats and booties are so cute. Hope he gets to wear them.  I started out with a dozen pairs of booties and ended up with 3 1/2 pairs. Either the washing machine ate them, or the mice are sleeping in them.  I figure that these should get him through early fall and by then I will have more (and larger) clothes made.  The clothing blanks are from Dharma except for the onesies.

Baby Onsies

This a continuation of my dyeing adventures.

This is supposed to be a shade of tan. To me it looks more like gold.  I knew as soon as the stuff hit the dye that it was darker than what I wanted.

Baby Blankets and Sleepers

This is my first real venture into dyeing. It isn't at all hard to get something dyed. Getting the exact shade and even color is a little harder. So far, I haven't quite got the amount of stirring necessary nailed down. You may notice that the solids are rather blotchy. That isn't entirely on purpose.  Since they are all shades of blue I'm calling them sky scapes and letting it go.

The navy blanket I used the low-water immersion method by Ann Johnson from her book 'Color by Accident'.  I'm thrilled by the way it came out.

This sleeper was dyed with the low-water immersion method with Lapis Blue dye.  The purple bits sprang up spontaneously.  Pretty much all dye colors are a made of a mix of different colors so you don't know what might be in there.  Cool, huh ?

The mottling of the Sky blue makes it more like a sky.

Baby Bibs

These are real simple.  I just added iron-on transfers to ready-made bibs.  Images are from
The Graphics Fairy .

Awwwww.  So tiny.  I can hardly beleive that a real person is going to wear these tiny T's.
